THE SCRIPTURES
We believe in
-
in the complete inspiration of the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21), and
-
that both the Old and New Testaments are inerrant (John 5:18; Proverbs 30:5) in the original writings and are the supreme and final authority for faith and life (Matthew 4:4).
THE GODHEAD
We believe in
-
the Godhead exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three Persons are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in
-
His eternal existence as God (John 8:58; Micah 5:2; Colossians 2:9);
-
His Incarnation and Virgin Birth (John 1:14; Matthew 1:23);
-
His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15);
-
His death on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin (Hebrews 2:17; Romans 3:25);
-
His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:4);
-
His present ministry in heaven interceding (Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1), preparing an eternal home (John 14:3), constructing the Body of Christ (Matthew 16:18), and answering prayer (John 14:14); and
-
His personal, future return to earth (Mark 13:26; Revelation 22:20)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead,
-
convicts men of sin (John 16:8-11), regenerates (Titus 3:5), baptizes (Matthew 3:11; Ephesians 4:5), indwells the believer (1 Corinthians 6:19), seals the believer until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30, 1:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22), and sets apart believers unto a holy life (2 Timothy 1:9);
-
keeps and empowers believers day by day; and
-
guides and teaches believers into all truth (John 16:13-15, 14:26).
MAN
We believe that
-
man was created in God's image as innocent and pure (Genesis 1:26), and
-
Adam fell through the sin of disobedience (Genesis 3).
Therefore,
-
all men are corrupted in body, soul, and spirit and become children of wrath (Ephesians 2:1-3); and
-
all men need redemption (Romans 3:23-24).
SALVATION
We believe that
-
salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works (Ephesians 2:5-9); salvation requires repentance, a turning from one's own way to God's way (2 Corinthians 7:10);
-
salvation is through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22);
-
all who commit their lives to Jesus Christ are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become the children of God (John 1:12); and
-
true salvation will be manifested by a changed life (Matthew 7:16; Luke 3:8; Acts 26:20).
THE FUTURE
We believe in
-
the personal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth (Mark 13:26,27; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17);
-
the bodily resurrection of the righteous to the eternal dwelling in the glory of God's presence (Thessalonians 4:16,17; John 14:2,3); and the bodily resurrection of the unrighteous to judgment and everlasting punishment in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).
